My Arrival in Madrid

I have arrived in Madrid! After A LOT of planning, organizing, and stressful packing i managed to only slightly over-pack. well sort of. 1 backpack, 1 duffel, and 2 50 pound suitcases-- pretty much the same amount as other people around except they might not have had to cram, sit, and jump on their bags in order to close them. Im afraid to touch the zipper on one of the bags for fear that it might explode! But thats probably because i watched a documentary about the Big Bang Theory on the plane. I also watched a documentary about the lions of the Serengeti, 2 movies, ate two meals, changed positions about 50 times but could not sleep, and became friends with the nice older woman next to me, Dora. I helped Dora with the complicated electronics and she helped me decide whether to get the chicken or the pasta. It was a good relationship although i think i should have picked pasta. When i got to baggage claim there were hundreds (it seemed) of people surrounding the conveyer belt. By the end i was one of 3 finalists and i was convinced my bags had fallen out into the atlantic but after 45 min of waiting they emerged, the last two bags from the flight... figures. I found my group and we took a bus to my hotel which was somewhat interesting but what's really interesting is that in our bathroom there are two toilets right next to each other. Is that useful? Oh i have just been informed that the other is a bottom cleaner. Haha so you sit on one and then you just scoot over and sit on the other to be cleaned? Fascinating. Basically, nothing has really happened yet but I'm going to try out this blog thing so I don't forget everything. I may or may not update this frequently. Vale? vale.
